Every work in this catalog is currently produced exclusively by the Bluegrass Players, the adult community theater troupe at The Spotlight Playhouse in Berea, Kentucky. These scripts are not available for outside licensing at this time.
This site is a showcase — a record of the work that has been written, staged, and told in the Bluegrass. It exists so that theaters, producers, and directors can see what has been built here and understand the range of the catalog. The direction of licensing is something being explored, and early conversations are welcome.
About the Productions
The Bluegrass Players are an adult community theater company. Every production casts from open auditions, and there is no cost to participate. Productions use the resources of The Spotlight Playhouse and the Spotlight Acting School — the costume collection, the stage, the rehearsal spaces — and the whole community works together to make each show happen.
The dinner mystery format is central to the catalog. In a dinner show, the audience dines while the story unfolds around them. They are not passive observers — they are suspects, witnesses, and ultimately the jury. The audience votes on the culprit, and in some shows, their vote changes the ending.
Inquiries
If you are a theater, producer, or director with a question about any of these works — about the format, the cast requirements, the production history, or the future of licensing — the door is open. Early conversations help shape how and when each title might become available to other companies.
